In a widely read and shared 14 March 2020 article in University World News article entitled Vietnam: An outlier in the coronavirus epidemic and HE?, Dr. Mark Ashwill, Capstone managing director and co-founder, noted that this an especially good time to make lemonade out of lemons by building or expanding institutions' online presence in Viet Nam through digital marketing. Dr. Ashwill wrote a follow-up article in April that reiterated the importance of digital marketing Anatomy of a perfect storm for international recruitment.
As of January 2021, there were 68.72 million Internet users in Viet Nam, which comprises 70.3% of the population. There were 72 million active social media users, 73.7% of the population. (That's a YOY growth rate of 10.8%.) The share of web traffic by device is as follows: mobile (cell) phones at 40.1% and laptops/desktops at 58%, as of 12-20.
The percentage of Internet users from 16 to 54 who consume each kind of content each month: 1) watch online videos (97.6%), 2) watch vlogs (61.2%), 3) listen to music streaming services (73.2%), listen to online radio stations (44.4%), and listen to or watch podcasts (37.9%).
Facebook is the third most popular website in Viet Nam – after Google and YouTube - and the top two apps are Facebook (website) and Zalo, a locally developed “super app.” (Source: Digital 2021: Vietnam) This is an optimal time to promote any number of products and services, including overseas study.
In an effort to help educational institutions that recruit in Viet Nam take advantage of this opportunity, Capstone has created six (6) different digital marketing packages to accommodate different marketing budgets. Sources include top digital media outlets, Facebook ads, Vietnamese language blogs, videos, banner ads that link to articles, Google Ads, etc. The choices are

If you’re interested in one of the above events, please contact Ms. Hang Pham, Capstone deputy director, at [email protected], for more information. Capstone partners are entitled to a 5% discount.
